Catholic school board re-elects June Szeman as chair

At the annual meeting of the Board on December 1, 2009, the trustees of the Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board acclaimed June Szeman as Chair of the Board. This is Trustee Szeman’s fourth term as chair. June Szeman has been a trustee of the board since 2000 and has a strong background in administration and education.

In her acceptance speech, Szeman stated that, “through the many changes over the last year we have built new relationships and maintained a balanced budget. I am honoured by your continued confidence and, as always, am committed to do my best to place Catholic Education in the forefront.”

Joe McPherson was elected Vice-chair. McPherson’s experience as a trustee dates back to 1985 with the former Brant County Roman Catholic Separate School Board. Trustee McPherson has held a position on the Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board since 2003 and it is his third term as Vice-chair.

The board elections and annual meeting followed by the celebration of the Eucharist with Monsignor Murray Kroetsch presiding. Music ministry for the mass was provided by St. Bernard’s school choir.
