On Tuesday, February 16, 2010, EQAO presented the Dr. Bette M. Stephenson Recognition of Achievement to the Assumption College School community. A team of representatives from Assumption College School, including the 2008-2009 school principal, Rob Campbell were present to receive this honour. Also in attendance was the current Assumption College School principal, John C. Burroughs.
This recognition program acknowledges exceptional school communities throughout Ontario and was established in honour of Dr. Stephenson’s pivotal role on the EQAO Board of Directors and her lifelong commitment to Ontario’s publicly funded education system (http://www.eqao.com).
Assumption College School put a team in place to help improve student success including the development of procedures to review and identify educational needs, propose intervention strategies, review literacy skills and use EQAO data to improve student success. These procedures continue to address need and promote achievement each school year. The 2008-2009 school principal, Rob Campbell provided EQAO with his belief that success is the direct result of the effort of all. “Our staff takes ownership of student needs and administers to them collectively through exceptional programming and exemplary teaching practices.”
