6th Annual All Catholic Girls High School Soccer Championships

This year, St. John’s College hosted the 6th Annual All Catholic Girls High School Soccer Championships on May 10th and 11th, 2018. The tournament hosted 12 teams from Catholic schools around the province for two days of soccer and for a celebration of our shared faith during Catholic Education Week. After their first day of round robin play, all involved with the tournament gathered together at St. Pius X parish for a special Mass. Each team also made a donation of canned and non-perishable goods to St. Vincent De Paul. After the Mass, the traditional “Living in Faith” Award was given out to one member of each team who demonstrates Catholic values in their daily lives.

The second day of the tournament was the elimination rounds, where all 12 teams competed. The Championship match between St. John’s College and Assumption College (both from Brantford) was an exciting game, but in the end Assumption College came out on top. Congratulations to Assumption College and to all of the teams who played in this amazing tournament. Our heartfelt thanks goes to Jeff De Prosperis, Jason Young, Rich Melski, Andrew Hall, and Peter Pomponio for organizing this tournament, and to all of the facilitators, donors, and sponsors who made this tournament such a success.
