Received the Student Trustee Report…

Student Trustee Zettler reported that the Student Senate have begun initial plans for the School Councils’ Winter Retreat as well as the Spring Leadership Symposium. In school news, all secondary schools were focused on building school spirit through various school and community events, and raising funds in support of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul and Syrian refugees.

September and October have been busy months for the system, but we have had the opportunity for a few celebrations.

  • Our Annual Retiree Breakfast was held on September 17, 2015. This year the event took place at St. Bernard of Clairvaux Parish Hall and was well-attended by retirees from all three counties of the board.

  • On September 22, 2015, we held our new employee commissioning mass.

  • Norfolk County students participated at the Norfolk County Fair and Horse Show.

  • On October 8, 2015, our retired staff gathered for the First Annual Retiree Dinner held at the Brant Golf and Country Club this year. The dinner was well attended and the retirees already appeared well-rested!

  • We held our First Annual Employee Milestone Celebration at the Catholic Education Centre. Employees celebrating 25, 30 and 35 years of service were invited to enjoy a Devlin’s catered ‘Appy Hour’ at the Catholic Education Centre. Afterwards, staff were presented with milestone certificates at the October Meeting of the Board of Trustees. Congratulations and a special thank you for your dedicated service to Catholic education to all recipients.
