Catholic Board appoints Philip Wilson as new Superintendent of Education
The Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board is excited to announce the appointment of Philip Wilson to the position of Superintendent of Education.
Mr. Wilson comes to us with over 20 years of experience in education at the Dufferin Peel Catholic District School Board and the Peel District School Board. He has spent 15 years, at both the elementary and secondary panels, as a school administrator, most recently as Principal of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic School in Mississauga.
“We are thrilled to have Phil join our senior administration team,” said Director of Education, Mike McDonald. “He is an experienced and transformational Catholic leader who will provide direction and support to all students, staff, and parents in our community.”
Mr. Wilson holds a Master of Education from Western University and has extensive experience creating equitable spaces and outcomes for all learners. He comes to the district prepared to enhance instructional and assessment practices and continue our focus on building faith-filled Catholic learning communities.
“On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I want to welcome Phil to the Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board. I know that he will be a valuable addition to the senior leadership team,” said Chair Rick Petrella. “I look forward to working with Phil as we continue to implement our Strategic Plan and embark on many exciting teaching and learning projects as our school district continues to grow.”
Mr. Wilson is filling a vacancy that was created when Superintendent Rob De Rubeis recently retired.
