Catholic Board appoints two new Superintendents of Education

June 21, 2019 (Brant, Haldimand, Norfolk) - The Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Robert De Rubeis and Lorrie Temple to the positions of Superintendent of Education.

Mr. De Rubeis has been a Catholic educator for over 30 years with leadership experience at the school, district, regional and provincial levels. Holding a Bachelor of Science (Mathematics/Statistics), Bachelor of Arts (Economics) and a Masters of Education has provided Rob with a strong foundation that has supported his success while working in various roles from classroom teacher at St. Ignatius of Loyola Secondary School to Adjunct Professor at Niagara University. “Rob places emphasis on connecting with stakeholders and developing shared visions that inspire others,” said Director of Education, Mike McDonald. “We are pleased to have him join our senior leadership team in August.” Most recently Rob held the role of Education Officer with the Ministry of Education (EDU). He is filling a superintendent vacancy that was created when Mike McDonald was appointed Director of Education of the district.

Mrs. Temple is a passionate advocate of Catholic education with demonstrated commitment to the system. Lorrie brings with her teaching experience at both the elementary and secondary levels, matched with administration experience as an Elementary Principal, and Secondary Vice Principal and Principal. “We welcome Lorrie and know that her varied experience, including curriculum development and focus on technology and social media, are going to be a great support for the senior leadership team,” said Mike McDonald, Director of Education. Lorrie’s Honours Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Education are matched with many other accredited achievements including the Leadership in Human Resources Program taken through the Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board. She is filling a superintendent vacancy that was created when Superintendent Leslie Telfer announced her retirement.

“We are pleased that both Mr. De Rubeis and Mrs. Temple have accepted the positions of Superintendent of Education,” said Chair of the Board, Rick Petrella. “Their individual strengths complement our current senior leadership team and we are excited to have them on board while our district continues to grow and prosper. I welcome them both.”
