End of School Year Message from Chair Petrella

My dear friends,

As another school year comes to an end, we can look back with great pride on the many accomplishments of the students and staff who continue to shape and define the Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board. Our students continue to grow in their academic and spiritual journey, which can be directly attributed to your hard work and dedication throughout the year.

I understand that this time of year is hectic with report cards, and graduations, but I wanted to reiterate to all of you that we at the board truly appreciate and value the time and effort you dedicate to ensure the success of your students. Our students and staff have continued to excel and have been recognized at the local, provincial, national and even international level in a variety of endeavours and achievements. We, as the Board of Trustees, applaud these efforts and achievements and underscore how proud we are to have you all as part of our system.

It has been a very busy and productive year for all of us. We have come to the end of the 2014-2018 Multi-Year Strategic Plan, and have already begun working on our new 2018 -2022 Multi-Year Strategic Plan.

The Board has also approved its budget for 2018-19, with total increases in the Board’s operational budget over the 2017-18 Revised Budget of approximately $4,552,000 or 3.5%.

This year budget is in line with the Board’s ongoing commitment to provide a fiscally responsible budget, while maintaining effective, efficient, and equitable programs and services, and putting dollars back into our school, where it counts.

Our school communities continued our tradition of gathering to Worship throughout the year for liturgical celebrations, school events, meetings, and for reflection and solace. Our staff, in partnership with parents and parishes, helps to guide and inspire our students to become mature, caring and responsible citizens who exemplify our Catholic School Graduate Expectations. We are grateful for your involvement and commitment to our board.

We acknowledge the ongoing support of the staff and all Catholic stakeholders for their positive impact on Catholic education, and thank each and every one of you for your dedication to our publicly funded Catholic schools.

On behalf of the Board of trustees of the Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board we wish you all the very best and hope that you enjoy a safe and restful summer.

Best wishes,

Rick Petrella

Chair of the Board
