Community Use of Schools is a Ministry initiative that supports access to school space outside of regular school hours for community groups. Community Use of Schools shall not prejudice the regular or extracurricular programs of the school, either during or outside of school hours.
The rates for weeknight and weekend usage vary. Not-for-profit local community groups whose activities directly involve children and youth (ie. Scouts, Guides, YMCA, etc.) and recognized children’s sports and recreation services providers (as per the Ministry of Tourism and Recreation’s recognition criteria), are eligible for reduced rental rates.
