Specialist High Skills Major

The Specialist High Skill Major (SHSM) program provides students with essential skills and work experience. Students focus their learning on components of the hospitality and tourism sector while meeting the requirements of the Ontario Secondary School Diploma. When it is time to make a post-secondary choice, students are well-informed and can draw on actual work experience to help them decide.

How do I apply?

Step 1 - Discuss your career plans with your parents, teachers and guidance counselor

Step 2 - Obtain a Program Application Package from your guidance counselor

Step 3 - Complete the application and give it to your guidance counsellor

Step 4 - Prepare a resume and cover letter for an interview that you will have with your guidance counsellor
