Message to Parents/Guardians

Welcome to the Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board's support 'Transitions' program. This program has created a Transitions Guide that can be used by parents and students to gain an understanding of the programs and supports available. This guide is meant to help students make a successful transition from grades 8 to 9, and 9 to 10 and is designed to allow a better understanding of all the support systems available for each student, enabling them to successfully achieve their high school diploma.

Within the Transitions Guide you will find three sections, the most important of which is 'Before Transition'. The Grade 8 teacher, in combination with the Guidance Departments of each high school, specifically the Student Success Teacher, will consult at several key times during the year. The Student Success Teacher will help identify the transition pathway of each student. This guide will help parents understand the process and provide input to both the classroom teacher and the guidance department at the secondary level.
